Corporate Social Responsibility Reporting, GRI and sustainability
Critically evaluate the Coca Cola Company Corporate Sustainability Report 2012-13 against the Global Reporting Initiative 3.1 Guidelines, with particular emphasis on identifying diverse stakeholder groups and identifying and reporting on priority issues.
In order to critically evaluate the Coca Cola report it will be necessary to –
a) Set the context:
Briefly outline what Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)/Sustainability is and how the initiatives on reporting CSR/Sustainability have developed over the past few decades.
Explain what the Global Reporting Initiative is, how it has developed and is developing.
b) Critically analyse the report and draw conclusions:
Identify at least four stakeholder groups and demonstrate how the company engages them in the sustainability reporting process and how it identifies and reports on their particular concerns and how it identifies priority issues.
